I'm Yin-Juei (pronounced "Ing Ray") --- an impact-driven UX Research Lead with 15+ years of experience leading strategic research, aligning cross-functional teams, and leveraging persuasive storytelling to drive user-centered business decisions.

I break the complex down into simple, actionable insights. I help cross-functional teams define and refine their goals to ensure alignment, effective problem-solving, and scalable impact. My ​experience spans non-profits, tech, and healthcare. My expertise in behavioral science enables me to translate user insights into experience design that drives measurable behavioral change and business impact.
 

As a scientist and a dancer, I use movement-based interpersonal activities to cultivate understanding and foster collaborative relationships as people navigate conflicts.

Led generative and evaluative research for consumer-facing products in transportation, e-commerce, and technology.

Hopelab

Developed a theory of change framework for Vivibot, an award-winning health bot for young cancer survivors. 

Built a national survey, scaling Goal Mama, a goal-coaching app, from 5 to 275 testing sites, impacting 8k+ users.

Developed an automated mobile survey, achieving a 70+% completion rate from 300 participants across 4 surveys.

USER RESEARCHER
Sharp NEC Display Solutions of America
Led user and market research for a touchscreen display, aligning across Product, Design, Engineering and Sales, uncovering key challenges that empowered the Managing Director to finalize product decisions.

PROJECT LEAD | Ph.D. RESEARCHER

Infant Cognition Laboratory, Northwestern University

Managed a team of 7 (40+ total), leading research on cognitive development with 400+ participants. 

Designed, created, and tested the prototypes of 3D experimental stimuli that led to successful data collection.

Co-programmed with a software engineer to build a new coding software (Chang & Wang, 2014) that improved data collection experience by removing user pain points.
